History of Steier Oil Field Service
Frank and Clara Steier started Steier Oil Field Service in 1971, beginning as a pumping service with minimum maintenance. Frank Steier began teaching his son, Ken, the fast paced environment of the oil field business at the young age of 14. Ken learned the responsibilities that the job required and strived at them all throughout his career at Steier Oil Field Service.
Ken worked numerous jobs in the oil field after high school. These jobs gave him more knowledge about the industry and in 1979 he began a roustabout division under Steier Oil Field Service. This division was made up of Ken Steier, one other employee, and a one ton truck. Today they oversee approximately 90 employees in the roustabout aspect of the business.
In the 1980’s Steier Oil Field Service expanded their services to pipelining and well watching as well. They have established themselves and maintained their reputation as a “first call” service company with the major oil companies in the area.
In 2012 Steier Oil Field Service expanded its services by opening an environmental company named Aspen Environmental Services. Aspen Environmental Services utilizes Kenís 41 years of oil field experience and a staff of environmental professionals to provide environmental services to the North Dakota oil and gas industry.
Currently Steier Oil Field Service has approximately 150 employees, and continues to diversify, and take advantage of new opportunities it is given to further the growth of the Company. The name “Steier Oil Field Service” has been around for over 40 years, always representing quality in service and consistently going above and beyond the call of duty to satisfy the customer.
